Patient Safety Week - 15-21 November 2010

During this week NHS organisations are encouraged to take the opportunity to raise awareness locally about their commitment to patient safety and good practice.

 NHS Devon supports Patient Safety Week and is itself committed to ensuring that all services it commissions are of the highest patient safety and quality standard.  NHS Devon supports their providers in participating in the Patient Safety First campaign which covers areas of work such as:

  • Leadership
  • Pressure Ulcers
  • 5 steps to safer surgery
  • Human Factors
  • Matching Michigan
  • Mental Health
  • Insulin and anticoagulant safety
  • Safer childbirth
  • Falls
  • Deterioration
  • Incident reporting

NHS Devon would like to thank all the contributors who helped provide the wealth of information colleated here.

These examples demonstrate the depth of the commitment to Patient Safety within NHS Devon’s Commissioning arm.
