Pharmacies (sometimes called chemists) are experts in medicines and how they work.
They will dispense NHS prescriptions and other health-related products.
They play a key role in providing quality healthcare to patients, offering health advice, information about medicines and how to take them.
They are able to give advice on common complaints such as coughs, colds, flue, sore throats, aches and pains and pain relief.
They are also able to answer questions and provide support on giving up smoking, healthy eating and other health issues.
You are able to talk to your pharmacist in confidence - even about the most personal symptoms and you don’t need an appointment.
Pharmacist can also safely dispose of out-of-date medicines and unused medicines.
