There are currently 2 specialist child development centres:

• Highfields for Northern Devon in Barnstaple
• Honeylands for Eastern Devon in Exeter

The Honeylands service in Exeter has recently been transferred to ICS from the Royal Devon and Exeter Foundation Trust.  A new purpose built facility has been completed in partnership with Vranch House and is scheduled to open late June 2011.

Specialist Child Development Centres provide multidisciplinary assessment for pre-school children referred because they have or are suspected of having developmental problems or disability.  Staffing includes nursing, portage, education staff, paediatricians, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists.
