ICS - Further response Teams

ICS_3

Further response teams provide services to children with complex additional needs or disability.  Teams are based in the three Devon localities.  The teams each have a further response manager, and staff who represent the following services:-

  • Social Work
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Learning disability nursing
  • Portage
  • Children nursing (in the south the children’s nursing is provided by South Devon Healthcare Trust and in the west by Plymouth hospital).
  • Physiotherapists employed by Vranch House (a voluntary organisation) work in partnership with the further response teams.
  • Direct payments staff
  • Discplus information officers work closely with further response teams providing families with information geared to the needs of their child.
  • Rehabilitation Officer for visually impaired children (ROVIC)

The teams provide a seamless service around the needs of families who have children with disability or complex additional needs.

The teams assess the need and administrate financial support, in the form of personalised budgets and/or direct payments, as well as providing a key worker for those families who need a co-ordinating worker.
