Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)

PNA_image

NHS Devon would like to hear your views about our draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).

The PNA maps existing pharmaceutical provision against current and future needs.

It will be a basis for determining future pharmaceutical service provision and market entry to support local health need.

The PNA must consider:

  • The make-up of the population in local areas
  • The health of the population in local areas
  • The different kinds of pharmaceutical services that are currently provided by local area

High quality pharmaceutical services may then be commissioned by the Primary Care Trust in a targeted and fair way.

In drawing together the PNA the Primary Care Trust must consult with a wide range of stakeholders including the general public.

Please use the links below to view or download a copy of the PNA:

If you would like a printed copy, please contact Ben Johnson on telephone number 01392 267605 or by email at

The PNA is intended to be read alongside the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).

NHS Devon welcomes comments and views from all interested parties on the draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. Please use the form below:
