Carers

A Carer is some one who spends a significant proportion of their life providing unpaid support to family or potentially friends. This could be for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has a mental health or substance misuse problem’ (Department of Health Carers Strategy 2008).  

NHS Devon is committed to working in partnership to support carers in Devon and has agreed Joint plans with Devon County Council 2011-2013. For further information about these plans please see the document Joint Plans for Carers 2011-2013.
