Review of services for people who have had a stroke and their carers.

As part of this year’s Special Reviews programme, the Care Quality Commission have undertaken a national review looking at the quality of care and support provided to stroke patients and their carers.

The review aimed to look at patient care from the point that patients prepare to leave hospital, to the long-term care and support often needed in order to cope after their stroke and with stroke-related problems, covering NHS, Local Authority and the Voluntary services.
