Primary Care Trusts were abolished on 31st March 2013 as part of the NHS reforms

Primary Care Trusts were abolished on 31st March 2013 as part of the NHS reforms. Services previously managed by NHS Devon, Plymouth and Torbay will be transferred to the following organisations:

Northern Eastern and Western Devon CCG will be responsible for commissioning local health services for the population of Northern, Eastern and Western Devon

South Devon and Torbay CCG will be responsible for commissioning local health services for the population of South Devon and Torbay

Devon County Council will now be responsible for the public health of the population of Devon, excluding Plymouth and Torbay

Plymouth City Council will now be responsible for the public health of the population of Plymouth

Torbay Borough Council is now responsible for the public health of the population of Torbay

NHS England will be responsible for commissioning primary care, specialised commissioning such as prison health and secure mental health and elements of public health

Public Health England is responsible for maintaining the general health and wellbeing of the public, and will be responsible for health improvement and health protection.
